New
Information Technology
New information technology not only benefits programmers, database
managers, hardware engineers and network analysts but it also
benefits the common consumer as well. New information technology
in the 1940's and 1950's was based upon developing better mainframes
for the military and universities.
Now days, however, new information technology is a bit more complex
with Web 2.0, cloud computing, new methods of security and data
encryption, the rise of VoIP and too many other items to mention
here.

Of course with the rise of new information technology is also
the rise of the misuse of this same technology. Hackers, spammers,
spoofers, those who want do identity theft and place malware on
PC's is doubling every year.
So, new information technology is constantly being developed
to thwart these threats. The sharing of sensitive national security
data among government agencies using differing computer systems
and networks is another challenge.
But, to the average consumer, new information technology may
be a simple as showing interest in the new Google phone, using
open source code and barely knowing about it, increased Gbps wireless
speeds and 3D GPS navigation systems.
There is a whole generation right now being raised on cell phones
and Internet access. They have never known a time when new information
technology was not a part of their lives. And this generation
will take this technology and bring it to a whole new level in
the foreseeable years to come.
